Tom Jaffa is the President & CEO of The Jaffa Company. Founded in Seattle in 1984, The Jaffa Company provides tourism destination development, management and marketing services. The Jaffa Company also provides business, project and event management services to corporate, small business, and nonprofit organizations. Tom is passionate about "supporting those who wear the uniform of our nation -- the troops." His leadership with the USO Puget Sound Area includes service as the current Board Chairman and two years as Vice Chairman. He is also the National Vice President of the Navy League of the United States and Co-Chairman of Annual Seafair Fleet Week Events.
Tom has received the following honors:
Distinguished Service Award presented by The Seattle Yacht Club and the Seattle Council of the Navy League for outstanding service to the Maritime Services; Superior Public Service Award by the Secretary of the Navy; Meritorious Public Service Award by the Commandant of the Coast Guard; the Navy League Scroll of Honor and Northwest Region Navy Leaguer of the Year Award; Outstanding Citizen Award presented by former Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikoske, and Seattle Mayor Greg Nichols; and the National Tour Association's "Tom Jaffa Bulldog of the Year Award" -- an award named in his honor for tireless tourism advocacy efforts. Tom is also a two- time Jefferson Award nominee.
Tom's career includes work with the Washington State Economic Development Agency, serving as Tourism Program Manager during former governor John Spellman's Administration, and as Vice President & Asst. General Manager of the Seattle King County Convention & Visitors Bureau. During his time at the County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Tom created and coordinated the " Campaign to Give Seattle A Middle Name" which resulted in the highly acclaimed and recognized "Seattle, The Emerald City" promotional effort.
